Quick look! Sharing the love
One of the great parts of our job is that we get opportunities that extend far beyond our own classroom. One that has been particularly rewarding has been a weekly Bible study in Masi with people who have come right off the street, often having no real understanding of the gospel. However, things have changed a bit in the last few weeks. There is now a DTS (Discipleship Training School) outreach team living and working in our usual venue in Masi.

Last week we asked them what they would like us to do to come along side them and help, and they told us that they would actually be most blessed if we could run a study for them every week. SO, we have begun a 6 week Bible Overview Bible Study to show them big picture of the Bible that can only be seen when the whole book is looked at within the scope of it’s context.
The best past is that it is not just me running the show, but our students! It is so cool seeing the people that we have been teaching giving back what they are getting. This is probably the most powerful teaching that comes out of the SBS, and we are excited about what it will do in the lives of these 10 young people!
How do you share your experiences? What outlet do you have to pour into others?
We’ve become real friends with people that want nothing to do with the church and the bible.
we have not brought up our faith in discussion settings but very slightly from one point or another.
last weekend we went to a cabin in the moutains for the weekend and i brought my kindle to read the scriptures.
i can’t remember how a discussion about the bible started but the guy happened to be the son of a youth pastor and hated how reading the bible was pressured onto him. his parents divorced. he believes there’s a higher power but doesn’t trust the authority of the bible. the other guy said he’s never actually read the bible because it was pushed down on him so much.
neither of them and their wives are against God. they just never read the bible on purpose.
after our discussion Kyle said “let’s have a bible marathon from genesis to the end!”
i wasn’t sure he was serious. but i think that our lives are speaking more and now they are ready to actually dive in and inquire about God.
i’m excited and confused. i’ve never experienced this “sharing of the gospel” in such a way. i always felt that you had to go out and evangelize people and act like a teacher.
but here, i demonstrate my insecurities and the fact that i don’t know but that the one thing i know for sure is that Jesus is real and the holy spirit is in me.
i’ve never lead someone to christ the regular way. again and again i find myself playng a part in changing people’s opinions about our Lord just by being with them. msot of these people are opposed to christianity and the church the way we are used to and so am i, i find more and more.
i never get to talk to people who are hungry for the gospel and curious about Jesus. it always people who think the whole thing is sham.
i have no idea where all this is going. hopefully somewhere good.
SO GOOD! I guess the truth is that sharing the gospel is never a routine thing. It is always an adventure in it’s own right. It’s all about listening to the Holy Spirit and letting Him guide you as you go.
I am continually impressed with the way you two are living your life in keeping with the Bible!
Since this is a WordPress Blog, can you please add an RSS button?
I’d love to stay updated and I RSS blogs rather than an email.

Scott, we do in fact have an RSS button, it is at the bottom of the page. I am also a big RSS guy, and it was one of the first major items on the checklist when we build the site. Glad to have you following along! Many blessings!
Brian and Ashley –
How blessed you are already!
To see the fruits of your labor multiply the teaching of God’s Word before your very eyes is something that can take years for Sunday school teachers or youth leaders to see, if at all.
Unfortunately, teaching in a public school is a restrictive environment to sharing directly from God’s Word during class. However, sharing God’s LOVE to all students, frequently allows opportunities to witness to non-Christians and minister to Christian students between classes, after school, and even while coaching.
